2011, July - U23 World Champs

published: 25-Jul-2011

The Under 23 World Rowing Championships have finished for another year.

Australia made three A finals in the Womens Quad, Womens Four and Womens Pair. The Womens Quad won the only bronze medal, while the Four and Pair both finished in fourth.

MUBC rowers Michael Poulter and Tim Webster were unfortunate to miss a berth in the A final of the Mens Eight, but finished with a clear water lead in the B final ahead of Italy. These boys will now return to Melbourne for some heavy training before taking on the challenge of Head of the Yarra in November.

Hannah Clark and her fellow crew members Gabby Kukla, Amy James and Jo Wood came second in their B final behind Japan. In Hannah's first season of representative rowing, she should be happy with a top 8 result.
