Paul McGann - Director of Coaching

Mr Paul McGann as current Director of Coaching since 2022/23 season. Paul is an acclaimed rowing professional with International and Australian representative experience at Senior A and Under 23 level having won gold and silver coaching at U23 World Rowing Championships.

Matt Ryan - High Performance Coach 

2008 Olympic Silver Medallist Matt Ryan leads MUBC as High Performance Coach. Matt's unmatched enthusiasm for our sport powers our performance programs across all age and skill levels. He brings a wealth of experience and technical knowledge gained at the highest level of competitive rowing and coaching to MUBC and leads our talented group of coaches to deliver outstanding performances at every regatta.  

Matt was awarded the Rowing Australia Pathways Coach of the Year 2021, congratulations Matt.

Beth Ross - Women's Squad Head Coach 

Tokyo 2020 Olympic Silver Medallist, respresenting New Zealand in the Women's Eight. Beth began coaching at MUBC at the beggining of the 2023/24 season. She has brought an emense amount of fresh knowledge and technical skill into the women's program. Having recently been an elite athlete herself has brought great insight into our women's squad giving athlete's that next level competitive edge.

 

Alexandra Hagan - Women's Squad Coach

London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympian. Alex joined MUBC in the 2022/23 season and has been an integral part of the women's squad whilst bringing her wealth of knowledge from her time as an elite athlete.

 

James Rook - Men's Squad Coach

Rookie is an Australian Olympic Coxswain from 2020 tokyo Women's Eight. Apart of MUBC since 2022/23 season Rookie has brought a great amount knowledge and high energy to the Men's squad, along with having the perspective of a world class coxswain is invaluable to the athletes at MUBC.

 

Connor McConville - Women's Youth Squad coach

Connor has been an integral apart of the Women's program since 2021. A whilst also a leading school girl head coach in Melbourne, Connor has brought a great amount of knowledge and guidance to our school leavers joining and transitioning into the MUBC program.
